How WhatsApp is used in India
India is the largest WhatsApp market on earth and the cheapest one to send in, which is why so many D2C brands there run their entire post-purchase flow on WhatsApp instead of SMS or email. Marketing templates cost a fraction of a US cent, so campaigns that would be unthinkable elsewhere are routine here. The trap is the other direction: at these prices it is easy to over-send, get marked as spam and watch your quality rating fall, which throttles how many conversations you are allowed to open per day.
